Job summary

UST is seeking a senior electrical/electronic engineer in Malaysia to lead architecture, design and implementation of complex solutions for multiple market segments with regulatory compliance in mind.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver world-class products, manage product realization from concept to manufacturing and provide technical proposals with cost estimates. Strong HDL and interface knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-10 years of direct working experience in product design within a multi disciplinary environment.

Job description

• Leads the architecture, design and implementation of technical solutions in multiple market segments that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to develop world class products in highly regulated markets.
• Familiar with EE development processes & workflows to realize products on a PCBA and product/system level.
• With the relevant technical competencies, lead and execute product realization from conceptual stages all the way thru manufacturing transition.
• Able to support the development of technical proposals for customers, providing technical solutions to realize concepts and estimating associated labor and material costs required. o Recognized subject matter expert for one or more technical areas. See Technical Competencies section.

Design for Manufacturing & Quality Assurance

• Products that are not manufacturable will not benefit our customers and more importantly the end user. This role requires collaboration with manufacturing partners to ensure seamless production and timely delivery.
• Able to identify and evaluate materials/components and manufacturing processes that align with product requirements and are cost-effective to implement.
• Proficient in product development life cycle processes and compliance to product quality standards.
• Experience in designing digital circuits and systems that encompass:
• Digital controller design that covers MPU / MCU/ FPGA / GPU
• Storage and memory device interfaces
• Familiar with various digital interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR, LVDS, SerDes etc.
• SI & PI simulation and validation

Proficient with schematic & layout design tools (OrCAD, Cadence Concept/Allegro, Altium Designer)

Good understanding of product EMC, Safety & Environmental compliance requirements Proficiency with HDL and IP design such as VHDL, Verilog, and System Verilog is an added advantage

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-10 years of direct working experience in product design within a multi disciplinary environment, having completed multiple product development cycles.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, ability to work with an international team.
• Good team work attitude, collaboration and communication skills.
