Meili Resort Hotel Sdn Bhd in Semporna, Sabah, is seeking a hands-on Handyman to perform general maintenance across resort facilities, guest rooms, and public areas. You will carry out carpentry, plumbing, painting and minor electrical tasks within the scope of training and safety guidelines.

You will inspect rooms and facilities, respond to maintenance requests from Front Office and Housekeeping, assist with lawn and outdoor repairs, and help with renovation projects.

Formación

• Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum two years' experience in general maintenance or handyman services.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and general repair skills.
• Knowledge of electrical and air-conditioning maintenance a plus.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and basic English; Mandarin beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Perform general maintenance, repair and upkeep of resort facilities, including guest rooms and public areas.
• Carry out carpentry works, repairing doors, furniture and fixtures.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs: leaks, drains, toilets and pipes.
• Paint, touch up walls and refurbish as required.
• Perform minor electrical tasks within training scope; assist with air-conditioning maintenance.
• Inspect guest rooms and facilities for damages and maintenance needs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from Front Office and Housekeeping.
• Assist with landscape-related maintenance and outdoor repairs.
• Ensure tools and workshop are clean and safely stored after use.
• Participate in renovation and improvement projects as needed.

Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Position: Handyman

Perform general maintenance, repair and upkeep of resort facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, staff quarters and other operational areas.

Carry out basic carpentry works, including repairing doors, furniture, cabinets, wooden fixtures, decking and other fittings.

Perform minor plumbing repairs, including leaking taps, clogged drains, toilets, pipes, showers and water fittings.

Carry out painting, wall touch-ups, plastering and general refurbishment works when required.

Perform minor electrical maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs and basic fittings, within the scope of training and authorisation.

Assist with basic air-conditioning maintenance and report any technical issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, locks, windows, doors and other resort equipment.

Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, walkways, public areas and resort facilities to identify damages or maintenance requirements.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from other departments, particularly Front Office and Housekeeping.

Assist with landscaping-related maintenance, including minor repairs to outdoor furniture, walkways, garden fixtures and resort surroundings.

Ensure all maintenance tools, equipment and materials are properly handled, cleaned and stored after use.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the maintenance workshop and assigned working areas.

Assist the Engineering team with renovation, installation, preventive maintenance and improvement projects.

Report major defects, damages, equipment breakdowns and maintenance requirements to the immediate supervisor.

Ensure all repair and maintenance activities comply with workplace safety procedures.

Be flexible and willing to work extra hours, overtime, weekends and public holidays according to resort operational requirements.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management from time to time.

B. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.

Minimum two (2) years of working experience in general maintenance, handyman services or a similar position.

Basic knowledge and hands-on experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting and general repair works.

Basic knowledge of electrical and air-conditioning maintenance will be an added advantage.

Able to operate hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment safely.

Able to identify and troubleshoot minor maintenance issues.

Physically fit and able to perform manual work.

Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and basic English.

Ability to speak, read and write in Chinese/Mandarin will be an added advantage.

Responsible, hardworking, punctual and able to work independently as well as in a team.

Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends and public holidays.

Willing to be stationed at MEILI Resort Hotel, Semporna, Sabah.
