Job summary

Weida (M) Bhd is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to support overall operations at our Miri facility. The role focuses on coordinating manpower, machinery, and materials while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or environmental science background, 2–5 years in plant operations, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive performance and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating manpower, machinery, equipment, and materials to support smooth and efficient plant operations.
• Support daily operations and maintenance activities, including monitoring work schedules and coordinating routine and preventive maintenance activities.
• Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing plant performance, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of operational budgets, including tracking manpower, material, and maintenance expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and assist in promoting a strong safety culture within the plant.
• Prepare operational reports, professional correspondence, and documentation as required by management.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities when necessary.
• Support ISO documentation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
