Job summary

Chin Swee Vegiciting Sdn Bhd is seeking a kitchen staff member to assist with basic food preparation in a fast-paced, halal-focused environment. You will wash, cut, and prepare ingredients and support chefs in daily cooking tasks while upholding strict halal standards and hygiene.

The role requires reliability, physical fitness, and the ability to work well with others. Training will be provided, and five working days per week are expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, weighing, and sorting according to instructions.
• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation and cooking tasks.
• Handle, prepare, and store all food in full compliance with Halal requirements.
• Check ingredient labels and report any doubts regarding Halal certification or product suitability.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the food preparation area.
• Wash and sanitize utensils, cookware, equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen floors.
• Store ingredients properly, label and date items, and follow FIFO.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors when ingredients or supplies need replenishment.
• Receive deliveries and inspect items for quantity, quality, freshness, expiration dates, and Halal compliance.
• Comply with food safety procedures, personal hygiene, allergen controls, and workplace safety.
• Dispose of food waste and general waste safely and responsibly.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
• Perform other reasonable kitchen duties as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
