Job summary

Maahad Tahfiz Al Wafa Lilbanat in Kulim, Kedah is seeking a dedicated Guru and Warden to join as a full-time educator and residential supervisor. You will teach, mentor, monitor discipline and oversee dormitory operations to provide a safe, supportive environment aligned with Islamic values.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification or degree in education, or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Proven experience as a secondary school teacher or educator in a relevant subject area.
• Experience in residential supervision, pastoral care or student welfare roles.
• Strong knowledge of Islamic education principles and values.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging classroom instruction in line with curriculum standards and Islamic education principles.

Maahad Tahfiz Al Wafa Lilbanat is seeking a dedicated Guru dan Warden to join our secondary education institution in Kulim, Kedah. This is a full-time position that combines teaching responsibilities with pastoral care and residential supervision duties. As Guru dan Warden, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal development of our students whilst maintaining a safe, supportive and disciplined residential environment. Key responsibilities

As Guru dan Warden, your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering engaging and effective classroom instruction in accordance with the curriculum standards and Islamic educational principles

Planning and preparing lesson materials, assessments and examinations that promote student learning and understanding

Monitoring student academic progress and providing constructive feedback to support their development

Maintaining discipline and creating a positive learning environment within the classroom

Overseeing residential supervision of students, ensuring their safety, welfare and adherence to institutional rules and regulations

Providing pastoral care and mentoring to students, addressing their personal, emotional and social needs

Managing dormitory operations, including conducting inspections, ensuring cleanliness and maintaining orderly living spaces

Responding to student concerns and behavioural issues in a timely and professional manner

Collaborating with other staff members to coordinate educational and residential activities

Attending staff meetings, training sessions and professional development programmes

Communicating regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and wellbeing

Contributing to the development and maintenance of a positive institutional culture that reflects Islamic values.

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

A recognised teaching qualification or degree in education, or equivalent professional qualifications

Proven experience as a secondary school teacher or educator in a relevant subject area

Experience in residential supervision, pastoral care or student welfare roles

Strong knowledge of Islamic education principles and values

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

The ability to maintain discipline whilst fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities

Proficiency in the English language; proficiency in Malay language is essential
