Job summary

Capitol Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a friendly and professional Waiter/Waitress to welcome guests and take orders with accuracy. You will present menus, serve meals, ensure tables are clean, and assist with banquets and events as needed.

Fresh candidates are encouraged to apply and training will be provided. Strong English and Bahasa Malaysia, a neat appearance, and teamwork are essential to delivering excellent guest experiences in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a Waiter / Waitress or Food Server in a hotel, restaurant or F&B establishment is an advantage.
• Fresh candidates are encouraged to apply, and training will be provided.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, courteous and service-oriented personality.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage.
• Well-groomed with a professional appearance.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Willing to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and attend to guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Present menus, take food and beverage orders accurately and serve orders promptly.
• Set up and prepare tables and dining areas before service.
• Ensure tables and service areas are kept clean, organised and presentable.
• Provide guests with information on menu items, promotions and available services.
• Attend to guest requests and enquiries promptly and courteously.
• Communicate guest orders and special requests accurately to the Kitchen and relevant team members.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently after guests have finished dining.
• Assist with restaurant, banquet and other F&B functions when required.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene and safety procedures.
• Maintain hotel grooming, appearance and service standards at all times.
• Report guest feedback or complaints promptly to the Captain or Supervisor.
