Job summary

Easyreno Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Junior Executive interior designer who will independently handle space planning, design concepts and technical drawings for residential projects, with growing ownership.

You will coordinate with suppliers, perform site visits, prepare 3D visuals and drawings under supervision, and support senior designers while building a solid foundation for advancement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field.
• Relevant working experience preferred; capability matters more than years.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, D5 and rendering software.
• Able to produce good-quality 3D visuals and complete technical drawings with minimal supervision.
• Good understanding of materials, carpentry, dimensions, site conditions and construction practicality.
• Confident communication with clients, vendors and team members.
• Willing to attend sites and follow up on normal project tasks.
• Organised and able to manage commitments without constant chasing.
• Able to identify risks and raise issues early.
• Willing to mentor junior teammates and support teamwork.
• Able to use AI and digital tools to improve planning and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop space planning, design concepts and practical interior solutions for assigned residential projects.
• Prepare and revise 3D visuals / renderings with less supervision.
• Prepare complete and accurate 2D drawings, including layouts, elevations, ceiling plans, electrical / lighting plans and carpentry details.
• Prepare and check quotations, Variation Orders and relevant project documentation with good attention to accuracy.
• Coordinate materials, finishes and specifications with suppliers, vendors and the carpentry / factory team.
• Conduct site measurements, site visits and normal project coordination independently.
• Monitor project progress and maintain clear visibility of pending items, next actions and deadlines.
• Provide timely and accurate updates to clients and the internal team.
• Identify design, technical, sequencing or site issues early and upscale them before they become larger problems.
• Coordinate routine vendor and site matters without requiring constant follow-up from the Senior Designer or Manager.
• Maintain organised drawings, records, project documentation and follow-up actions.
• Support interns and junior team members where appropriate by sharing information and practical guidance.
