Job summary

AGOS ASIA SDN BHD, Kuala Lumpur, seeks a Group Procurement Director reporting to the CFO. The role provides strategic leadership of the procurement function and partners with regional heads to drive consistency and best practices across the organisation.

You will own group-wide savings, supplier governance, and digital procurement transformation, defining policies, and enabling value delivery in a global, multi‑region setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Business Admin or related field
• Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or related function within a complex international organisation
• Proven track record in developing and executing procurement strategy and operating models across multiple regions or business units

Job description

The Group Procurement Director is a corporate role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The primary objective of the position is to provide overall functional leadership and strategic oversight of the company's procurement function. While the role does not have direct line management responsibility for the regional procurement teams, it is expected to work closely with the Head of Procurement in each region on a regular basis. The purpose of this collaboration is to provide support, ensure alignment of procurement strategies, promote best practices, and drive consistency in processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement Strategy & Operating Model – Define and implement the group-wide procurement strategy, operating model, decision rights, governance, policies, standards and ways of working across regions, while supporting Regional Procurement Managers within local reporting lines.
• Value Delivery & Benefits Realisation – Own group-wide savings and Total Cost of Ownership targets, maintain the procurement improvement roadmap and initiative pipeline, track realised benefits, control savings leakage and elevate delivery risks to ensure bottom‑line value capture.
• Category Management & Strategic Sourcing – Establish group-wide category ownership, develop category strategies and playbooks, challenge specifications and demand early in the project lifecycle, and capture scale benefits through strategic sourcing and vendor consolidation.
• Supplier & Contract Management – Negotiate high‑value, complex contracts with key and strategic suppliers, manage supplier performance, develop strategic supplier relationships and enable supplier‑driven innovation.
• Risk, Compliance & Sustainability – Identify supply chain vulnerabilities, build contingency plans, ensure procurement complies with legal and ethical standards, and implement sustainable procurement practices with the internal sustainability team.
• Digitalisation, AI & Spend Transparency – Drive digital and AI‑enabled procurement transformation, build a robust spend baseline, improve spend visibility, standardise reporting and implement controls that improve procurement productivity and compliance.
• Stakeholder Partnering & Performance Governance – Act as senior procurement partner to Finance, Operations and other key functions; define procurement KPIs, performance cadence and reporting for senior management.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Minimum 10 years of senior‑level experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commercial Management, or a closely related function within a complex international organisation.

Proven track record in developing and executing procurement strategy and operating models across multiple regions, business units, or legal entities.

Strong experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement governance.

Demonstrated success in delivering measurable cost savings, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements, and sustainable procurement value.

Strong commercial, contractual, financial, and analytical understanding, with the ability to evaluate complex supplier and sourcing decisions.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional and regional transformation initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive adoption without direct line management authority.

Strong understanding of supplier risk, supply chain resilience, compliance, sustainability, and procurement controls.

Strong analytical and data‑driven mindset, with the ability to use procurement data and insights to support strategic decision‑making.

Excellent English communication, negotiation, presentation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a global, multicultural and geographically dispersed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional procurement or supply chain certification such as CIPS, MCIPS, CPSM, or equivalent.
• Experience leading procurement within a project‑based or asset‑intensive environment, where procurement has a significant impact on project delivery and commercial outcomes.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Subsea, Offshore Renewables, Energy, Maritime, Engineering, or other industrial sectors.
• Experience working for a Norwegian, Scandinavian, or European‑headquartered multinational organisation.
• Experience leading procurement digitalisation, AI adoption, automation, or advanced procurement analytics initiatives.
• Experience with modern Source‑to‑Pay (S2P), e‑procurement, spend analytics, or contract management platforms.
• Experience establishing or transforming a Group Procurement function, including implementation of a new operating model, governance framework, or centralised procurement structure.
• Experience managing major strategic suppliers, global framework agreements, or highly complex commercial contracts.
• Experience supporting M&A, business restructuring, new market entry, or significant organisational transformation from a procurement perspective.
• Exposure to sustainable procurement, responsible sourcing, supplier innovation, or ESG‑related procurement initiatives.
