CKD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Chargeman B0 (11kV) to join the Facility & Maintenance Department in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah.

You will manage 11kV and low‑voltage installations, lead maintenance activities, and ensure safe, uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations. The role requires hands‑on troubleshooting, leadership, and compliance with electrical safety and statutory requirements.

Formación

• MUST HAVE: Valid Chargeman B0 (11kV) Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).
• Candidates without a valid B0 11kV certificate will not be considered.
• Minimum Diploma, Certificate or recognised technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of 11kV electrical distribution, switching procedures, electrical protection systems and safe isolation practices.
• Knowledge of Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), LOTO, electrical safety requirements and statutory compliance.
• Willing and medically fit to support electrical emergencies, planned shutdowns and after‑hours maintenance activities when necessary.
• Preferably 5 years or more of relevant experience in industrial electrical operations and facility maintenance.
• Hands‑on experience in 11kV switching, electrical troubleshooting and industrial power distribution systems.
• Experience supervising technicians and managing external maintenance contractors.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the registered Competent Person (Chargeman B0) for the plant's electrical installations, within the scope of the valid competency certification and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of 11kV and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Coordinate electrical switching, isolation, shutdowns and restoration activities in accordance with approved safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, electrical safety regulations and applicable statutory obligations.
• Maintain electrical inspection records, statutory documentation, equipment registers and maintenance reports.
• Manage daily facility operations, including HVAC, cleanroom support systems, chillers, cooling systems, compressed air, water supply, wastewater treatment, generators and fire protection systems.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Monitor utility performance, operating parameters, equipment alarms and abnormal conditions to minimise operational disruptions.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, electrical trips and utility interruptions to support production continuity.
• Coordinate statutory inspections, testing, calibration and planned facility shutdown activities.
• Lead and supervise facility technicians and appointed contractors to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor work performance and verify the quality of completed maintenance activities.
• Ensure contractors comply with Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), risk assessment and other applicable safety procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and support the development of the Facility & Maintenance team.
• Investigate equipment failures, electrical incidents and recurring utility issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Support energy efficiency initiatives, maintenance improvement projects and cost optimisation activities.
• Assist in spare parts planning, maintenance budgeting, technical evaluations and vendor coordination.
• Ensure facility systems comply with company EHS requirements and applicable safety standards.
• Provide emergency technical support, including after‑hours electrical troubleshooting and shutdown activities when required.

About the Role

CKD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced and competent Chargeman B0 (11kV) to join our Facility & Maintenance Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the plant's electrical installations, including 11kV and low-voltage systems, while leading facility maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations.

This position requires strong technical expertise, hands‑on troubleshooting capabilities, leadership skills and a thorough understanding of statutory electrical safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Operations & Statutory Compliance

Serve as the registered Competent Person (Chargeman B0) for the plant's electrical installations, within the scope of the valid competency certification and regulatory requirements.

Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of 11kV and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.

Coordinate electrical switching, isolation, shutdowns and restoration activities in accordance with approved safety procedures.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

MUST HAVE: Valid Chargeman B0 (11kV) Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).

Must be eligible for registration and appointment as a Competent Person for the Company's electrical installation, subject to regulatory requirements.

Minimum Diploma, Certificate or recognised technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or a related discipline.

Strong understanding of 11kV electrical distribution, switching procedures, electrical protection systems and safe isolation practices.

Knowledge of Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), LOTO, electrical safety requirements and statutory compliance.

Willing and medically fit to support electrical emergencies, planned shutdowns and after‑hours maintenance activities when necessary.

Experience & Technical Skills

Preferably 5 years or more of relevant experience in industrial electrical operations and facility maintenance.

Hands‑on experience in 11kV switching, electrical troubleshooting and industrial power distribution systems.

Experience managing facility utilities and maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, breakdown analysis and equipment reliability.

Experience supervising technicians and managing external maintenance contractors.

Familiarity with HVAC, chillers, compressed air systems, generators and other industrial facility equipment.

Good problem‑solving, technical reporting, communication and leadership skills.

Added Advantages

Experience in semiconductor, electronics or high‑tech manufacturing facilities.

Familiarity with cleanroom utility requirements and critical facility systems.

Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Knowledge of energy management and utility efficiency improvement.

Previous experience as a senior Chargeman, maintenance team leader or facility supervisor.
