Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Group Accountant / Finance Manager to lead the Group's accounting and financial reporting across the company and subsidiaries, coordinate annual consolidation, and ensure robust internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/CIMA) or a recognised accounting degree, be a member of MIA, with 3–5 years’ relevant experience, and demonstrate leadership, strong analytical, and communication

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification or a Degree in Accounting/Finance from a recognised institution.
• Membership with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is compulsory.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in accounting, finance, audit, corporate finance or a related field.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of financial controls and risk management.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the accounting and financial reporting functions of the Group and its subsidiaries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial reports.
• Coordinate the consolidation of financial statements for the Group.
• Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls, procedures and accounting processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers and other professional advisers.
• Lead the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents for the annual audit.
• Prepare and monitor the Group's budgets, cash flow forecasts and financial projections.
• Supervise and guide the finance and accounting team.
• Monitor the Group's cash position and liquidity requirements.

The Group Accountant / Finance Manager is a hands-on, commercially minded and technically competent finance professional who is capable of managing the Group's accounting function while providing strategic financial support to senior management and the Board. The candidate must demonstrate high integrity, accountability, confidentiality and professional judgement, together with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced corporate environment.

Key responsibilities
