Job summary

AMD invites applications for a Graduate Trainee in the Data Center GPU team in Penang to work on platform designs, validations and solutions that help customers win with AMD Instinct systems. You will gain exposure to pre-silicon and post-silicon validation, learning through hands-on hardware and software development.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask across projects.
• Self-starter with the ability to work across multiple tasks.
• Experience with statistical analysis tools and techniques (DOE, JMP).
• Proficiency in PYTHON and C++.
• Familiarity with testing hardware equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, VNA, thermal solutions).
• Knowledge of AI/HPC software stacks (ROCm, TensorFlow or PyTorch) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and validate AMD Instinct platform designs.
• Participate in design, simulation, emulation, validation and triage/debug.
• Test and validate the functionality, electrical, power and performance of the Instinct platforms to specifications.
• Brainstorm and debug issues to meet product feature specifications.
• Involve in both hardware and software daily for validation work.
• Simulate, emulate, debug and validate product features (Device Power, Device Thermal, High Speed IO, GPU/CPU).

AMD is looking for a highly talented engineer to join our Data Center GPU team as a Graduate Trainee working on platform designs, validations, and solutions to help our customers WIN with AMD Instinct systems. This engineer will work with validation team to meet product development or sustaining milestones. Opportunity to learn simulation, emulation and validation during pre-silicon and post-silicon phase to deliver the hardware and software technologies of next generation AI/HPC computing platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Depending on the hob role, you may work on activities below:

• Setting up and enabling the latest AMD Instinct Platforms Design
• Participate on the current and next generation product definition and address the key design and methodology challenges.
• Participate in projects involving from design, simulation, emulation, validation and/or triage/debug
• Test and validate the functionality, electrical, power and performance of the Instinct Platforms to its product features specifications.
• Brainstorm and debug of any issues or challenges arises to meet product features specifications.
• Involve in both hardware and software on daily basis to perform the validation works.
• Simulate, emulate, debug and validate product features includes Device Power, Device Thermal, High Speed IO (PCIe Gen5, DDR5, USB), GPU and CPU

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Good communication
