Job summary

AMD in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a highly motivated Engineer Trainee to join the Data Center GPU team, working on platform designs, validations, and solutions to help customers WIN with AMD Instinct systems. This role offers exposure to simulation, emulation and validation across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases to deliver the hardware and software technologies of next-gen AI/HPC computing.

You will gain hands-on experience across design, simulation, emulation, validation and triage,

Qualifications

  • Engineering graduates in Electrical & Electronics / Computer Engineering / Computer Science
  • CGPA: minimum of 3.0 and above or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Python and C++; experience with DOE/JMP is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and enable the latest AMD Instinct platforms design
  • Participate in current and next generation product definition and address design/methodology challenges
  • Contribute to design, simulation, emulation, validation and triage/debug projects
  • Test and validate functionality, electrical, power and performance against specs
  • Brainstorm and debug issues to meet feature specifications
  • Engage in both hardware and software daily to support validation work
  • Simulate, emulate, debug and validate features like Device Power, Thermal, PCIe Gen5, DDR5, USB, GPU/CPU
