Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Graphics Platform Validation Engineer to join a global team. You will validate AMD GPU platforms, triage issues, and drive validation deliverables to milestones.

Responsibilities include developing test strategies, procedures, and documentation, executing Post-Si validation, and collaborating with firmware, software, and hardware teams to diagnose root causes and enable product bring-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE or related engineering is required.
• Solid knowledge of PC hardware, BIOS/drivers/OS, and graphics experience is expected.
• Experience with hardware validation, defect tracking, and test methodology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage in post-silicon validation for AMD GPUs, review designs and develop validation strategies.
• Create test procedures and generate technical documents as needed.
• Execute post-Si integration validation, track and report status.
• Triage and debug system-level issues with cross-functional teams (Firmware, SW, diag, board design).
• Support new GPU bring-up and debugging activities.

THE ROLE

AMD Graphics Platform validation team is part of Graphics systems and customer engineering, and is responsible to validate platforms for AMD graphics products. You will be working with cross function teams globally to validate graphics platforms, triage/debug issues, and drive validation’s deliverables to hit platform validation milestones.

THE PERSON

• Excellent communication skills including English ability in oral and written
• Be able to work both independently and in a team.
• Leading technical discussion with multiple function teams and drive issue’s triage and debug.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engaged in AMD dGPU’s post-silicon phases, driving to review internal & customer’s design, develop validation strategies and test plan for AMD reference or customer platform designs
• Create test procedures and generate technical documents as needed.
• Execute Post-Si Integration validation; track/report validation status.
• Triage/debug system level issue with cross function engineering teams (Firmware, SW, diag, board design), and root cause the issue.
• Support new GPU product bring-up and debug issues.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Solid knowledge of kinds of PC hardware elements (CPU, GPU chipset, I/O devices, etc.), software (BIOS, drivers, operating system) and PC architecture.
• Technical experience in electrical hardware design, ASIC platform’s test and debug, and related tools, defect tracking and revision control.
• Graphics experience is a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in EE or related engineering
