Job summary

Technoworkz Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a telecommunications test engineer to validate GPON/XGS-PON OLT/ONT equipment and subscriber services. The role involves configuring equipment and executing comprehensive test plans across L2/L3 protocols.

You will work with multi-vendor gear, validate interoperability, and develop automated tests using Python/TCL/Perl where required. A strong grounding in PON features and network protocols is essential.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of GPON, XGS-PON, OLT/ONU/ONT and FTTH.
Hands-on experience with VLAN, DHCP, PPPoE, NAT, IGMP, QoS, and IPv6.
Familiar with OMCI and ONT provisioning.

Responsibilities

Test and validate GPON/XGS-PON OLT and ONT/ONU products.
Configure OLT/ONT and validate subscriber services.
Create and execute test plans, test cases, functional, regression, interoperability and performance tests.
Test VLAN, DHCP, PPPoE, NAT, IGMP, QoS, TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6 and other L2/L3 protocols.
Validate PON features such as GEM, T-CONT, GEM ports, bandwidth profiles and QoS.
Perform throughput, latency, packet-loss and traffic-performance testing.
Troubleshoot failures using Wireshark, traffic generators and network test equipment.
Perform optical testing using Optical Power Meter and OTDR.
