Job summary

bp is seeking a senior Trade Finance professional based in Kuala Lumpur to support the ST&S business within the Finance Business & Technology team. You will advise on LC-based risk mitigation, manage LC/SBLC and bank guarantee lifecycles, and ensure data integrity across systems while collaborating across regions.

The role requires 7–10 years in trade finance with strong English communication, and a solid knowledge of UCP 600/ISP98, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CDCS certification is an advantage.
• 7–10 years of experience in trade finance, collections, credit risk management, or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of UCP 600 and ISP98.
• Experience in multinational corporations or international financial institutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, Word and Copilot.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on and structure trade finance solutions, including Letters of Credit (LCs).
• Manage lifecycle of trade finance instruments (LCs, SBLCs, bank guarantees).
• Prepare, review and submit trade finance applications.
• Oversee administration and settlement of trade finance claims under LCs.
• Maintain relationships with banks and counterparties; support receivables discounting and financing arrangements.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across trade finance and credit datasets.
