Job summary

Comet Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, seeks a Global Supplier Quality Senior Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives across selection, qualification, NPI, audits and performance improvement. You will drive APQP/PPAP/FAI and ensure process capability while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

The role requires 5+ years in supplier quality, strong knowledge of FMEA, MSA, SPC and 8D, and hands-on experience with machining, plastics,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, 8D and supplier auditing.
• Experience with machining, plastics, welding, plating, PCBA/SMT or RF components.
• Experience with supplier audits, process capability, root cause analysis and quality improvement; CQI-11/silver plating knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills; proficient in SAP, Minitab and MS Office; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead global supplier quality activities across supplier selection, qualification, NPI, audits, development and performance improvement.
• Drive APQP, PPAP, FAI, Safe Launch and supplier readiness to meet quality requirements.
• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments and technical reviews to evaluate capability and controls.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, MSA and other tools.
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, NPI, Procurement, Supply Chain and Quality teams to resolve supplier issues.
