Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia is seeking a experienced Payroll Manager to lead our Global Payroll Center of Excellence, owning complex payroll operations across multiple regions including China.

You will mentor senior and junior staff, ensure data accuracy, and drive process improvements and automation. This role partners with HR and Finance to maintain master data, comply with regulations, and support audits and reporting.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience across countries/regions, with China payroll exposure.
• Strong leadership and coaching of payroll teams.
• Solid knowledge of local labor laws, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Experience collaborating with HR, Finance and vendors for data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end payroll processing for designated countries/regions.
• Supervise, coach and develop payroll team members.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and external service providers.
• Support payroll audits, filings and reporting.
• Drive payroll system enhancements and automation.
