Job summary

OSI Optoelectronics in Johor seeks an Engineering Director to lead the engineering team across NPI, manufacturing, testing and equipment. You will drive process optimization, ensure high yields, and collaborate with global teams on technology transfers and qualification processes.

The role requires extensive leadership experience in the semiconductor/optoelectronics field, with a focus on delivering robust engineering solutions and sustaining product quality in high-volume production

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electronics Engineering or equivalent with leadership experience.
• 20+ years in semiconductor or optoelectronics, including 10+ years in senior management.
• Knowledge of optoelectronics manufacturing and quality systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and technicians in NPI, manufacturing, testing, and equipment management.
• Optimize production cycles and improve product yields across assemblies and PCBA.
• Coordinate technology transfers, first article approvals, and pilot-scale production.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource deployment for global collaboration.
• Direct hiring, coaching, and performance evaluation of the engineering team.
• Govern BOM, changes, and lab testing; drive CAPA and corrective actions.
• Develop strategic roadmaps for advancing optoelectronics and box-level assembly.
