Job summary

A creative development studio in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Finance Executive to handle daily financial operations across Malaysia, the United States, and Japan. This role involves ensuring documentation, reporting, and compliance while managing multi-currency transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Xero and Excel, alongside experience navigating Malaysian statutory obligations. The hybrid position requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on learning AI tools to optimize finance workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience navigating Malaysian statutory obligations — EPF/KWSP, SOCSO, SST, income tax.
• Exposure to multi-entity corporate structures including entity formation.
• Familiarity with royalty accounting or IP licensing agreement financials.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day financial operations across Malaysia, the US, and Japan.
• Coordinate with external partners including bookkeepers and auditors.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable across all entities.

Skills

Proficiency in Xero

Strong Excel skills

Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)

Comfortable working with multi-currency transactions (MYR, USD, JPY)

Detail-oriented and organized

Comfortable in a VUCA environment

Open to AI and automation tools

Education

ACCA, CPA, CA(M) or equivalent professional qualification
