Job summary

Emerson Process Management Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to manage monthly closings, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory and tax reporting. You will work with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) to ensure accurate financial data and compliant reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Finance or Accounting (ACCA/CIMA/CPA preferred), with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and experience in GL accounting, financial reporting,

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, taxation, treasury activities, and balance sheet management.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate monthly financial closing activities in Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Coordinate the closing period for Oracle modules with the shared service team.
• Review and post journal entries with appropriate approvals and accurate classifications.
• Manage journal processing activities including reclassifications and allocations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Support submissions and reporting to regional and corporate finance teams.
• Coordinate annual statutory audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Support internal audits, tax audits, and other compliance reviews.
• Prepare monthly corporate tax computations and support quarterly tax reporting submissions.
• Partner with external tax advisors on annual corporate tax filings.
• Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts; oversee fixed asset accounting and asset control.
• Coordinate bank guarantee applications, renewals, and related banking activities.
• Review tenancy and maintenance agreements and renewal schedules.

Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external auditors, financial institutions, and tax advisors.
