Job summary

ZHAO YANG GEOTECHNIC SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Project Engineering Coordinator to support geotechnical projects.

The role links project management, engineering teams and clients to ensure on-time delivery, quality and client satisfaction. Ideal candidates have a Civil/Geotechnical engineering background with 1-3 years in project coordination, strong English communication and proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.

Qualifications

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, project engineering or a similar support role within the construction or engineering sector.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with project management software or tools.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in technical documentation and project records.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also working independently with minimal supervision.
• A solid understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, construction processes and project management practices.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes, construction standards and regulatory requirements is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating project schedules, timelines and milestones to ensure all engineering activities are completed on time and within budget.
• Liaising between project managers, engineering staff, clients and subcontractors to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications and compliance records.
• Monitoring project progress and identifying potential risks or delays, escalating issues to senior project management as required.
• Assisting with the organisation and coordination of site inspections, meetings and project reviews.
• Supporting the collection and management of project data, including technical specifications and quality assurance records.
• Coordinating with engineering teams to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Providing administrative support to project engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of project processes.
