Job summary

Strato Solutions Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a GIS Metadata Administrator with solid experience in managing metadata within an enterprise GIS environment. You will load, update, and validate records in the Master Geodatabase, ensuring completeness and compliance with data governance standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in any discipline and has 3–4 years in GIS Database Management, plus 2 years in metadata creation and quality checks using ISO 19115/19139, FGDC, PPDM, IOGP SSDM.

Qualifications

• Possess a Diploma in any discipline with relevant GIS experience.
• 3–4 years of cumulative experience in GIS Database Management.
• 2 years hands-on experience in metadata creation, organisation, and maintenance using recognised geospatial or petroleum data management standards.
• 1 evidenced assignment involving the maintenance of a metadata database.
• 1 year of hands-on experience performing metadata quality checks and validation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and configure GIS metadata within the enterprise GIS environment.
• Load, update, maintain, and validate metadata records within the Master Geodatabase.
• Ensure GIS metadata is complete, accurate, consistent, and aligned with data governance requirements.
• Create, organise, and maintain metadata for geospatial datasets.
• Perform metadata quality checks and validation to identify inconsistencies, missing information, or data quality issues.
• Apply recognised geospatial and petroleum data management standards and best practices for metadata management.
• Support GIS teams in maintaining proper metadata structures and documentation.
• Maintain metadata databases and ensure metadata records remain current and accessible.
• Prepare relevant documentation and provide technical support or knowledge transfer when required.
