Job summary

MediaPlus Digital is seeking an SEO/GEO Lead in Malaysia to manage a team of SEO specialists and drive comprehensive SEO and GEO strategies. You will lead, train, and mentor the team, coordinate with the Digital Marketing Manager, and ensure client satisfaction through effective SEO execution.

The role requires strong expertise across on-page, off-page, technical SEO, and AI-powered search platforms, with proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and deliver measurable results.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of SEO experience with at least 2 years in a team leadership role.
• Strong expertise in on-page, off-page, and technical SEO, including audits and backlinks.
• Working knowledge of GEO and AI-powered search platforms (e.g. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude).
• Experience managing multiple client accounts and collaborating with sales, client servicing, and creative teams.
• Proficient in SEO analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

This role combines leadership, technical expertise in traditional and AI-powered search, and client management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and train a team of SEO specialists
• Conduct performance reviews and set objectives in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Manager
• Oversee onboarding and training of new team members
• Ensure team members achieve individual and team KPIs as determined with DMM
• Develop and implement on-page and off-page SEO strategies for clients
• Stay current with and share SEO trends and algorithm updates
• Conduct website audits and derive action steps for SEO clients based on audit results
• Own backlinking processes and ensure guest post hygiene
• Optimize content for AI-powered search engines and generative AI platforms
• Develop citation-worthy content strategies to increase brand visibility in AI-generated responses

About you

• At least 5 years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years in a team-lead or managerial role
