Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.

• Strong understanding of production optimization and KPI management.
• Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring production efficiency, operational excellence, cost optimization, and consistent product quality. The role focuses on managing plant operations, improving manufacturing processes, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement to achieve operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including production, engineering, maintenance, quality control, production planning, warehouse, and supply chain functions.

Develop and execute operational strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, capacity utilization, and overall plant performance.

Lead daily production activities to ensure manufacturing targets, delivery schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

Manage production planning, manpower allocation, machinery utilization, material availability, and operational resources to maximize efficiency.

Monitor operational KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), production output, downtime, rejection rates, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and process optimization to reduce waste and improve operational performance.

Oversee plant maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and equipment reliability to minimize production disruptions and unplanned downtime.

Manage manufacturing budgets, operational expenditure (OPEX), capital expenditure (CAPEX), production costs, and cost reduction initiatives to improve profitability.

Lead and develop production managers, engineers, supervisors, and cross‑functional teams to strengthen operational discipline, accountability, and workforce performance.

Identify production bottlenecks, operational inefficiencies, and quality issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure compliance with manufacturing quality standards, ISO management systems, workplace safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Collaborate with senior management to support production expansion, capacity planning, automation projects, equipment investment, and long‑term operational improvements.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior operations management, plant management, or general management position.

Proven track record in managing end-to-end manufacturing or plant operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and planning.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production optimization, capacity planning, and operational performance management.

Hands‑on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Strong knowledge of OEE, production KPIs, cost control, equipment utilisation, and manufacturing efficiency.

Experience managing manufacturing budgets, OPEX, CAPEX, manpower planning, and operational cost reduction.

Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and department heads.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to drive operational transformation, improve plant productivity, and deliver measurable operational results.
