Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an accounting professional to prepare full sets of monthly accounts and ensure timely month-end closing. You will manage general ledger activities, cash flow, payables and receivables, and liaise with auditors and bankers.

The role requires 1–2 years in GL and full-set accounting, attention to detail, and proficiency in English and Mandarin to engage with a diverse client base in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level accounting/finance degree or professional accounting qualification.
• 1–2 years' experience in general ledger and full set accounting.
• Experience in manufacturing plant environment is a plus.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin for communication with stakeholders.
• Solid knowledge of computerized accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare full set of monthly accounts and ensure accurate month-end closing.
• Coordinate general ledger month-end and yearly close, including manual journal entries.
• Perform daily accounting operations: cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, GL.
• Analyze financial information and prepare financial statements.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on issues.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure audit compliance.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers and internal/external parties.

Education

LCCI / Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy Management, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent

Good verbal & written English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin

Practical knowledge of computerized accounting system

High integrity, meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently

This role involves preparing full sets of monthly accounts and ensuring proper and accurate month-end closing to meet deadlines. You will coordinate and perform general ledger month-end and yearly close activities, including calculation and booking of manual journal entries, and perform daily accounting operations such as cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger functions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare full set of monthly accounts and ensure proper and accurate month-end closing to meet the deadline
• Coordinate and perform the general ledger month-end / yearly close, including calculation and booking of manual journal entries
• Perform daily accounting operations such as cash flow management, accounts payable & receivable, general ledger and other accounting functions
• Analyze financial information and prepare financial statements
• Balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding reconciliation matters
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and audit requirements
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers and other internal or external parties

About you

• Possess an LCCI / Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy Management, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent
• At least 1-2 years' experience in the general ledger and full set accounting
• Experience in the manufacturing plant environment is an added advantage
• Good verbal & written English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in both English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
