Job summary

Finago Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is hiring an AI Tech Lead to anchor and grow a new AI engineering team. You will translate architectural vision into scalable GenAI capabilities, stay hands-on, and lead delivery for Nordic-focused HR and finance software products.

You will collaborate with AI Architects, Product teams, and Designers, shaping reliable, secure, and cost-efficient AI features while mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring as the team scales.

Qualifications

• Proven production GenAI experience: designed, built and shipped LLM/GenAI-based features to production with real users.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience in backend, data or ML engineering, or similar.
• Strong system design skills for production-grade services, APIs and data flows.
• Strong Python and engineering practices: testing, code review, CI/CD and maintainable services.
• Deep GenAI know-how: RAG, tool calling and guardrails, latency and cost management in production.
• Clear communication: explain technical choices to engineers and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English; daily collaboration with Nordic colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Translate target architecture into concrete designs and implementation plans for the team.
• Stay hands-on: design, build and ship LLM-powered features with the team.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for code review, testing, CI/CD, and feature evaluation before release.
• Mentor and grow AI Engineers through pairing and design reviews.
• Break product goals into technical plans, estimate realistically, help prioritize.
• Ensure GenAI features are reliable, secure, privacy-compliant and cost-efficient by design.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members.
