Job description

The position is responsible for developing and executing detailed test plans to ensure software applications meet specified requirements. This position evaluates test outcomes and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to address any functional issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create detailed functional test plans and strategies, covering all aspects of the testing process, including environment setup, data preparation, execution, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Perform both manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets the specified requirements.
• Analyze test results to identify any potential issues in the software and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and QA teams, to address functional issues and uphold the highest testing standards.
• Record, track, and document outcomes of functional tests, and report findings to the development team and management.
• Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
• Configure and maintain the test environment including the data to ensure they are ready for testing.
• Monitor the performance and stability of test environments and address any issues promptly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field that is recognized by the government from any local or abroad higher learning institution.
• Must have 3 to 7 years of experience in Functional/Automation Testing, Test Data Management, and Test Environment.
• Experience in the banking industries is a plus
• Proven work experience as a Software Tester or in a similar role.
• Experience in project management and QA methodology is an added advantage.
• Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or other relevant functional testing certifications are beneficial.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in functional testing tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, and Appium.
• Familiarity with programming languages like SQL and Java.
• Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Experience in an IBM AS400/iSeries environment is a plus.

Analytical Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to analyze system specifications and identify potential issues.
• Meticulous attention to detail in identifying and documenting software defects.
