Job summary

The freelance Copywriter (Bahasa Melayu) at WPP Production will shape creative direction and transcreation for Bahasa Melayu campaigns across Malaysia, delivering clear, concise and compelling copy for the client’s web, in-store, eDMs and other channels.

The role is full-time freelance; on-site work is required at times and travel to Singapore may be needed, requiring flexibility, collaboration with global teams, and a meticulous eye for tone, accuracy and delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Creative thinker with solid copywriting skills and thorough understanding of tone/brand voice.
• Worked on international and local brands.
• Confident presenting creative ideas with just the right amount of detail.
• Obsessed with excellent writing that is thoughtful, clear and provocative at times.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication in Bahasa Melayu and English.
• Able to adapt within a fast-changing environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Transcreate/Write, review, and elevate campaign copy for Malaysia across channels.
• Maintain brand tone of voice across media formats.
• Ensure messages align with English master copy and key product messages.
• Guide and maintain quality of translated long copy.
• Review, rewrite and approve translated marketing copy from partners.
• Collaborate with editors and translators to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Support TV, print and digital campaigns with input from the team.
