Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in fraud analytics, fraud operations, rules management, or financial crime risk.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with regional and technical teams.
  • Strong verbal and language competency skills in Japanese and/or Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end authentication, verification, review and approval of manual payment instructions across multiple currencies.
  • Validate supporting documentation, customer instructions and authorization requirements before payment release.
  • Identify, investigate and escalate suspicious or potentially fraudulent transactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, sanctions screening and fraud controls.
  • Review complex or high-value payment requests requiring additional scrutiny and judgment.
  • Perform maker/checker where applicable to ensure effective controls and accuracy of work at all times.
  • Identify operational risks, control gaps and process improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate enhancements.
  • Participate in the implementation of new controls, procedures and regulatory changes impacting payment operations.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert, providing guidance and technical support to colleagues and cross-functional teams.

The Manager is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end authentication, verification, approval and release of manual payment instructions across multiple currencies. The role combines operational execution with oversight responsibilities to ensure payment requests are legitimate, properly authorized, compliant with regulatory requirements and safeguarding against fraud prior to payment release.

You will be expected to provide operational leadership, drive excellence, strengthen controls, manage risks and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficiency and the ability to manage workflows within a high‑risk and fast‑moving fraud environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of regional banking operations, customer authentication flows, and payment ecosystems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a high‑pressure, fast‑evolving fraud landscape.
  • Strong understanding of international payment/fund transfer operations.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT and cross‑border payment processes.
  • Payment authentication and fraud prevention experience.
  • Investigation and escalation management experience.
