Job summary

Altera in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced Senior FPGA IP Architect to lead a team of software and validation engineers. You will design, validate, and optimize FPGA IPs such as ORAN and eCPRI, collaborate with Wireless System Solutions to deploy IPs in 5G networks, and guide technical discussions with key customers.

You will direct a multidisciplinary team to deliver software for FPGA IP, drive performance management, and ensure a productive work environment aligned with Altera values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of O-RAN and eCPRI standards.
• Hands-on experience with hardware design, highly optimized RTL development, IP-level simulation, and hardware validation.
• Knowledge of wireless system architecture and 3GPP 4G/5G standards is a plus.
• Proficiency with FPGA development and verification tools, including Quartus, Platform Designer, and Questa Sim or VCS.
• Proven experience with timing closure, clock-domain crossing (CDC), reset architecture, and standard interfaces such as Avalon-ST and AXI.
