Job summary

Syarikat Peladang & Perusahaan Minyak Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain, repair, and install mechanical equipment in our palm oil mill to ensure smooth operation. The role requires hands-on experience with mill machinery, reading simple drawings, and safe use of hand tools.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, assisting in overhauls and fabrication, and reporting issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Fitting & Machining or equivalent.
• Knowledge of palm oil mill machinery and mechanical systems.
• Able to read simple mechanical drawings and use hand tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install mechanical equipment in the palm oil mill.
• Troubleshoot and fix breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.

Job description

Responsible for maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment in the palm oil mill to ensure smooth and efficient plant operation.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of mill machinery (pump, conveyor, press, digester, sterilizer, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and fix mechanical breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime
• Install, align, and assemble mechanical parts and equipment
• Assist in machinery overhauling and fabrication works
• Follow safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE
• Record maintenance work and report equipment issues to the supervisor
• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Fitting & Machining or equivalent
• Knowledge of palm oil mill machinery and mechanical systems
• Skilled in fitting, alignment, and basic welding or fabrication
• Able to read simple mechanical drawings and use hand tools safely
• Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills
• Experience in palm oil mill maintenance is an advantage
