Job summary

Western Digital is seeking a firmware engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for eHDDs. You will implement data structures and drivers in C++/Python, ensuring robust interfaces like SAS, SATA, and PCIe, while collaborating across hardware and software domains including servers, RAID, Windows and Linux.

Qualifications

Good command of English communication.
Knowledge of C/C++, object-oriented programming, Python, data structures, and algorithms.
Capable of quickly learning new firmware, hardware, systems, tools, and methodologies.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain firmware for eHDD with unit tests and CI.
Implement data structures, algorithms, data paths and drivers for hardware cores in C++/Python.
Deliver storage products with SAS, SATA, PCIe interfaces.
Collaborate across hardware/software, including servers, RAID, Windows and Linux.
Plan and coordinate technical investigations from problem statement to conclusion.
Create design documents for firmware development phases.
