Job summary

Western Digital Malaysia is seeking a firmware engineer to design, develop, test and maintain firmware for eHDD. You will implement data structures, algorithms and drivers for hardware cores using C++ and Python, delivering products with SAS, SATA and PCIe interfaces.

You will collaborate across hardware and software teams on servers, RAID, and Windows/Linux, contributing to innovative data storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently doing Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain quality firmware for eHDD using best practices like unit test, CI.
• Design data structures, algorithms, data path, and drivers for hardware cores (C++/Python).
• Deliver cutting-edge storage products with SAS, SATA, PCIE interfaces.
• Collaborate on solutions across hardware and software platforms, including servers, RAID, and Windows/Linux.
• Participate in planning and coordinating technical investigations from problem statement to conclusion.
• Creates design documents pertinent to the various phases of firmware development.
