Job summary

Western Digital is seeking an Engineer, Software Development Engineering (Embedded) to design, develop, and test firmware for eHDD and related storage products. You will work with a cross- functional team to implement data structures, drivers, and software for hardware cores using C++ and Python, within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Knowledge in C/C++, object-oriented programming, Python, data structures and algorithms.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain firmware for eHDD using best practices like unit test, CI and Agile methodologies.
Design and implementation of data structures, software algorithms, data path, and drivers for hardware cores using latest standards C++ and Python.
Participate in Scrum & Agile processes to bring up new hardware and develop embedded firmware for data storage products.
Collaborate across hardware and software platforms, including servers, RAID, and various operating systems (Windows and Linux).
Creates design documents pertinent to firmware development.
