Job summary

WD Malaysia is seeking an embedded firmware engineer to join our team building firmware for next‑gen enterprise HDD storage products. You’ll work with a cross‑functional group to design, develop, test, and maintain firmware using C++, Python, and industry standards such as SAS, SATA, and PCIe in an Agile setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of C/C++, Python, data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain firmware for eHDD using best practices (unit tests, CI, Agile).
• Design and implement data structures, software algorithms, data path, and drivers for hardware cores using C++ and Python.
• Participate in Scrum & Agile processes to bring up new hardware and develop embedded firmware for data storage products.
• Collaborate to design solutions across hardware and software platforms (servers, RAID, Windows and Linux).
• Create design documents for firmware development phases.
