Job summary

VISTAS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. seeks a seasoned fire protection engineer to oversee campus fire protection systems, testing, commissioning and compliance. You will coordinate audits, manage suppliers, and ensure safety standards meet BOMBA and local codes.

Responsibilities include maintenance planning, documentation control, training staff, and ongoing liaison with fire authorities to secure certifications and annual inspections. English is required for reports; local language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in fire protection engineering, safety engineering or M&E.
• Minimum 5 years in fire system design, installation or operations; data centre experience preferred.
• Must meet local fire qualification requirements — BOMBA-recognised competence in Malaysia, fire system testing qualification in Thailand, fire technical qualification in Indonesia.
• Proficient in gaseous suppression design concentration, sprinkler hydraulic calculation, alarm interlock logic and smoke control principles.
• Familiar with local fire legislation, building fire codes and the process for obtaining fire certificates.
• English sufficient to author technical reports and exercise plans; a local language is an advantage for dealing with the fire authority.

Responsibilities

• Test campus fire systems on schedule, including gaseous suppression, sprinkler and water-based extinguishing, fire alarm and interlock control, confirming they operate correctly.
• Organise repair of fire system faults so that the system responds promptly in a fire or other emergency.
• Implement the fire emergency organisation, defining the duties of each level during alarm, evacuation and rescue.
• Prepare the fire emergency plan and run exercises to it, raising staff capability in fire and other emergencies.
• Drive the fire management assessment system, appraising the fire organisation quarterly to keep management effective and consistent.
• Revise fire management documentation periodically against site reality so that it stays targeted and effective.
• Deliver fire awareness campaigns and training, improving staff awareness and self-rescue capability.
• Manage fire maintenance contractors and testing bodies, reviewing their qualifications, test reports and recommendations.
• Maintain the working relationship with the local fire authority, handling fire certification, submissions and annual inspections.
• Support the weekly operations report with fire system status, open findings and exercise results.
• Maintain fire system drawings, point schedules and interlock logic documents in line with site reality, updating them within five working days of any modification.
