Job summary

Jora Malaysia, a well-known property developer in Johor Bahru, seeks an experienced Senior Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations, ensure robust controls, and provide timely reports to senior management.

You will lead the Finance Division, coordinate statutory reporting, and support board decisions on investments and cash flow for development projects. The role requires CA/CPA/ACCA and at least 15 years in accounting, with 3 years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant accounting/financial management experience.
• At least 3 years in a senior financial controller or leadership role.
• Experience with audits and working with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysia tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the accounting function including AP, AR, GL, and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Take charge of the Finance Division and ensure all statutory reports are submitted accurately and on time.
• Present and support Board of Directors on financial investments and cash flow forecasts for property development projects.

We are a well-known Property Developer located at Johor Bahru. Due to expansion, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a strategic position that plays a crucial role in the financial health and operational efficiency of our organisation. As Senior Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring robust financial controls, and providing senior management with accurate, timely financial reporting and insights. This role is integral to supporting the company's growth objectives and strategic decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities

• Directing and managing the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting processes
• Preparing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports in compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Take charge of entirely Finance Division and ensure all statutory reports are submitted accurately and on time. Provide guidance and supports subordinates to ensure all SMART financial objectives are met.
• Present and supports BODs on financial investments and cash flow forecast of each property development projects.

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA, or equivalent recognised certification
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior financial controller or similar leadership role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems, with demonstrated competency in Excel and data analysis tools
• Excellent knowledge of Malaysia's tax regulations, employment laws, and statutory reporting requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Experience managing audits and working collaboratively with external auditors
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Preferably, experience working within a group structure or multi-subsidiary environment
