Job Overview

As the Financial Controller at itGenius, you lead the Treasury team and look after the financial health of the whole group, across all our entities and jurisdictions. Your focus is cash, compliance and control. You make sure every entity stays compliant, the books are closed on time and can be trusted, and the business always knows its cash position. You also oversee the systems and AI agents that run much of our treasury work, so they do what they should and nothing happens without the business knowing. By providing clear, accurate numbers, you help leadership make good decisions.

Accountabilities

Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Treasury team so work is clear, owned and delivered on time.
Cash & Working Capital: Know the cash position of every entity at all times. Manage working capital, currency needs and bank relationships so no entity runs short.
Global Financial Integrity & Compliance: Ensure financial compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements (SG, AU, US, HK, etc.) and adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). You are the technical expert for compliance.
Data Integrity & Internal Controls: Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all financial data and mitigate operational risk.
Treasury Systems & Agent Oversight: Own the rules for how our treasury systems and AI agents work, including Stripe. Understand what they are doing, check they work as intended, and recommend and make updates.
Accurate & Timely Reporting: Oversee the month‑end and year‑end close and management reporting, so leadership has accurate numbers on time.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Treasury team.
Oversee the month‑end and year‑end close for all ITG and OSH entities, completed by the Senior Accountant.
Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Prepare and deliver management reports on both an individual and consolidated entity basis.
Manage working capital including cash flow, AR collections, AP terms, and treasury/bank relationships.
Make sure each entity has the cash it needs for payroll and bills, including currency needs such as USD.
Handle team requests and make decisions on complex billing matters.
Own the rules for Stripe: how it maps into Xero, when accounts are suspended, and what is written off and who approves it.
Oversee the treasury AI agents (such as collections): understand what they do, review their results, handle exceptions, and recommend and approve changes.
Check that the numbers coming out of Stripe and other systems can be trusted.
Work with the Treasury Systems Engineer, who builds and maintains Stripe, the integrations and the agents.
Recommend improvements to the financial tech stack that automate processes and give real‑time visibility of financial performance.
Manage the day‑to‑day enforcement of financial compliance, tax policies, and reporting across all jurisdictions.
Coordinate external accountants and tax agents in each jurisdiction, making sure returns and lodgements are done on time.
Lead annual tax planning with leadership.
Verify write‑offs for accuracy prior to submission for CEO approval, alongside managing account cancellation reviews.
Retain oversight of external audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
Manage international financial complexities, including multi‑currency transactions, intercompany charges, transfer pricing, and global compliance.
Manage the annual operational budgeting process, in collaboration with leadership.
Generate and report on financial results, including variances to budget, key trends, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
Oversee operational dashboards and management reports, working with our Financial Analyst.

Required Qualifications

Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) with solid, proven GAAP/IFRS technical competency.
8+ years in progressively senior finance roles, including experience as a Financial Controller or similar, across multi‑entity and multi‑jurisdiction operations (ideally SG, AU, US, HK or similar mix).
Demonstrated experience managing cash flow, working capital, multi‑currency treasury needs, and bank relationships.
Proven leadership of a finance/treasury team, with a track record of clear ownership and on‑time delivery.
Experience overseeing month‑end/year‑end close and consolidated management reporting across multiple entities.
Strong grasp of statutory and tax compliance, and experience coordinating external accountants/tax agents across jurisdictions.
Comfortable working with modern finance systems and automation (e.g., Xero, Stripe or equivalent), including reviewing and overseeing AI‑driven financial processes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise founders and leadership with clear, accurate, and timely numbers.

It would be nice if you have

Experience in a technology, SaaS, or professional services group operating across multiple international entities.
Direct experience overseeing AI‑enabled finance or treasury tooling.
Hands‑on experience with Stripe and Xero specifically.
Background in transfer pricing, intercompany structuring, or international tax planning.
Experience operating in a fractional, interim, or outsourced Financial Controller/CFO capacity.
