The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the Company's tax affairs in Malaysia, ensuring full compliance with applicable Malaysian tax laws and regulations. The role will manage corporate tax, SST, withholding tax, transfer pricing, tax reporting, tax audits, and tax-related matters while supporting the business with effective tax planning and risk management.
Oversee the preparation and timely submission of corporate income tax returns, tax estimates, tax computations, SST returns, withholding tax filings, and other statutory tax submissions.
Ensure compliance with requirements of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN/IRBM), Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD), and other relevant authorities.
Monitor tax deadlines, payments, assessments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
Review tax calculations, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by the Finance team or external tax agents.
Manage the Company's corporate income tax matters and effective tax planning.
Identify tax risks, opportunities, and potential areas for tax savings while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Advise management and relevant departments on the tax implications of business transactions, investments, incentives, promotions, and other commercial activities.
Oversee the Company's SST compliance, including registration, tax treatment, reporting, and payment requirements.
Manage transfer pricing compliance and documentation for related-party transactions.
Coordinate tax audits, investigations, and queries raised by LHDN/IRBM, Customs, or other authorities.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
Minimum 4-5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with experience in a multinational company, Big 4, or automotive/manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian corporate income tax, SST, withholding tax, and transfer pricing.
Experience handling LHDN/IRBM and Customs audits or tax investigations.
Strong understanding of Malaysian tax legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Good command of English is required for business communication and documentation.
