ASE Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced General Accounting Section Head to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with Malaysian standards. The General Accounting Section Head will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting section within ASE Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with statutory and corporate policies. The Section Head will lead and develop the accounting team to support the company's financial objectives and maintain high standards of accounting practices.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and manage the accounting section, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies to safeguard assets and enhance operational efficiency.
Manage budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis to facilitate business planning.
Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Monitor day-to-day accounting transactions and resolve discrepancies or issues promptly.
Prepare statutory compliance reports, including tax submissions and filings, in accordance with Malaysian regulations.
Support implementation and improvement of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
Provide guidance and training to accounting staff to build a capable and efficient team.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and accurate data flow.
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is an advantage.
Proficient in ERP accounting system, experience in SAP is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in financial reporting, audit coordination, and statutory compliance.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good command of both English and Mandarin.
