Job summary

Watsons Malaysia Finance team is hiring for a 1-year contract role to support project-based financial activities, reporting, governance, and controls. The position involves exposure to diverse Finance functions and placement based on business needs and experience.

Key responsibilities include month-end close, journal reviews, AP governance, capex administration, and internal control monitoring, with collaboration across functions to ensure timely deliverables.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Accounts Payable, Reporting, or Finance Operations.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, reporting, governance, and compliance.
• Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support financial reporting, month-end closing, and finance operational activities.
• Review journals, reconciliations, claims, and payment-related transactions.
• Support supplier governance, onboarding, and accounts payable control processes.
• Assist in capex administration, fixed asset management, and finance compliance reviews.
• Monitor adherence to finance policies, governance standards, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations.
• Ensure timely completion of recurring finance deliverables and reporting requirements.
