Job summary

Mason & Co is a multinational manufacturer of industrial tools and supplies with a strong presence in Malaysia. We are seeking a finance leader to oversee end-to-end financial operations, focusing on budgeting, continuous improvement, and commercial business partnering.

You will immediately take over a team of experienced accountants and lead them in day-to-day operations, partnering with Sales, Marketing, HR, and Operations to evaluate financial impact of key decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or professional certification such as CPA, CAT, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Experience in a managerial or team leadership role is essential, as you will be expected to lead team members from day 1.
• Industry exposure to manufacturing or trading environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel or PowerBI.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Able to communicate clearly and confidently in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including payables, receivables, general ledger, and asset management.
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, HR, and Operations to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct financial variance and causal analyses (SG&A, COS, gross profit, sales mix, inventory).
• Directly manage finance team members and cultivate a results-driven, collaborative finance culture.
• Drive annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, including variance tracking and performance monitoring.
• Monitor and optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital while identifying potential financial risks.
• Act as primary liaison for audits, ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and internal audit requirements;
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support digitalization within finance workflows.
