Job summary

Pivot Search is assisting a Li-Battery manufacturing client in Selangor to hire a Lead Finance & Costing professional who will drive financial planning, costing, reporting and internal controls.

You'll lead a finance/cost accounting team, partner with management, and shape pricing, budgeting and capital investment decisions through robust models and KPI dashboards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in finance and accounting
• At least 3–5 years in a managerial role
• Strong experience in manufacturing finance and cost accounting
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• ERP experience (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics/NetSuite) and BI tools

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and KPI dashboards.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, budgets, and business cases.
• Prepare profitability analysis by product, customer and business unit.
• Support pricing decisions with detailed cost and margin analysis.
• Manage product costing, standard costing and variance analysis.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and production efficiency.
• Analyze material, labour, and overhead costs; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review BOM and standard cost structures for costing accuracy.
• Conduct cost analysis for new product introductions and capital investments.

Job description

Lead financial planning, product costing, financial reporting and internal controls; manage finance/cost accounting team. Reporting to: Finance Director.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management to support business growth and profitability.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, management reports, and KPI dashboards.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, budgets, and business cases to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Prepare profitability analysis by product, customer, and business unit to support business performance evaluation.
• Support pricing decisions through detailed cost and margin analysis.
• Manage product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis to ensure accurate product cost information.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and production efficiency, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
• Analyze material, labor, and manufacturing overhead costs, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and standard cost structures to ensure costing accuracy.
• Conduct cost analysis for new product introductions and capital investment projects.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent is preferred.
• 8+ years of finance and accounting experience.
• At least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong experience in manufacturing finance and cost accounting.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience using ERP systems and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools being an added advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English to support effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
