Job summary

Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead month-end and year-end closing, ensure timely financial reporting, and maintain robust accounting controls.

You will analyse performance, manage budgeting and forecasting, oversee audits, and drive cost controls with department heads while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/CMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/controlling.
• Hospitality industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end closing and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze financial performance, variances, profitability, cash flow, and budget performance.
• Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures per standards and policies.
• Review daily revenue and ensure room, F&B, banquet, and other operating revenues are accurately recorded.
• Oversee income audit functions, investigate revenue discrepancies, and conduct periodic revenue audits.
• Oversee inventory control, monthly stock counts, variances, wastage, and operating costs.
• Monitor cost categories and work with department heads on cost-control initiatives.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with SOPs and CSAQ requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, including tax, SST, withholding tax, e-Invoice filings.
• Monitor finance-related contracts, documentation, and staff compliance with finance policies.
• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process, review departmental budgets, and provide financial guidance to department heads.
