Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Finance Intern to support multiple finance projects under the SEA Finance Shared Service Center Manager. The role covers AR, AP, FA, payment operations, and employee expense processes, with emphasis on accuracy and process improvement.

You will gain hands-on experience with ERP systems, Power BI, Tableau, and automation tools while developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration.
• Strong MS Word and MS PowerPoint skills.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
• Exposure to ERP systems and BI tools like Power BI/Tableau is a plus.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable support: billing, cash application, reconciliations, aging analysis, collections.
• Payment Operations: prepare proposals, validate docs, support processing and bank reconciliations.
• Accounts Payable: review invoices, monitor approvals, vendor reconciliations and month-end tasks.
• Fixed Assets support: capitalization, transfers, disposals, asset verifications.
• Employee expenses: review claims, validate receipts and reimbursements.

Job description

As a Finance Intern at MKS Instruments, you will assist with numerous Finance projects or activities from time to time. In this role, you will report to the Finance Shared Service Center Manager SEA.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Accounts Receivable (AR): Support billing, cash application, customer reconciliations, aging analysis, collections follow-up and intercompany transactions.
• Payment Operations: Prepare payment proposals, validate supporting documents, support payment processing, bank reconciliations and treasury-related activities.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Review supplier invoices, process transactions, monitor approvals, perform vendor reconciliations, support vendor master maintenance and month-end activities.
• Fixed Assets (FA): Support asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, reconciliations, asset verification exercises and audit requests.
• Employee Expense Claims: Review expense claims, validate receipts, process reimbursements and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Travel Requirements: Not required

Skills You Bring:

• Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration
• Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Table, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and data analysis.
• Exposure to ERP systems, Power BI, Tableau, Power Query, Alteryx or automation tools is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
