Job summary

AIA Malaysia is seeking a financial closing and reporting professional to ensure timely completion in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

You will prepare manual journals, handle statutory returns, and collaborate across departments to strengthen financial controls while meeting deadlines. The role suits someone with accounting degree and at least 2 years' experience, proficient in Excel and SAP.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or professional qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual journals for monthly closing.
• Submit monthly/quarterly/yearly local statutory returns to regulators and other regulatory reporting requirements, including audited financial statements.
• Perform variance analysis of financial results for local management and statutory bodies.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve processes with sound financial controls.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure initiatives meet business requirements.
• Liaise with External Auditors, tax consultants, regulators and other statutory bodies.

About The Role

Ensure Financial Closing and Reporting is completed timely and in accordance with established accounting standard and AIA Group's policy and requirement for Takaful.

• Prepare manual journals for monthly closing;


• Responsible for accurate and timely submission of monthly/quarterly/yearly local statutory returns to regulators and other regulatory reporting requirements, including audited financial statements;


• Perform review on the variance analysis of the financial results pertaining to reporting to local management and statutory bodies;


• Identify and assist to implement initiatives to improve processes and collaborate across departments to ensure that initiatives are incorporated with sound financial controls whilst meeting business requirements;


• Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements or on an ad-hoc basis; and


• Assist to attend or respond to enquiries/liaison with External Auditors, tax consultants, regulators and other statutory bodies.


• A recognized Degree in Accounting or Professional Accountancy Qualification, with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.


• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Excel and SAP are added advantage.


• Able to work under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.


• Analytical and good problem solving skills;


• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills;


• A good team player who is keen to learn.
