Job summary

AIA (Vietnam) Life Insurance in Malaysia is seeking an accounting professional to support financial closing and reporting for local regulatory requirements.

The role requires a recognized accounting degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience. You will work with Excel and SAP, handle journals, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure accurate, timely financial statements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly closing journals.
• Submit timely local statutory returns to regulators and other reporting duties, including audited financial statements.
• Review variance analysis of financial results for management and regulators.
• Identify process improvements and ensure strong financial controls across departments.
• Attend to ad-hoc tasks and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, regulators and other statutory bodies.
• Assist to respond to enquiries from regulators and authorities.

About the Role

Ensure Financial Closing and Reporting is completed timely and in accordance with established accounting standard and AIA Group's policy and requirement for Takaful.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare manual journals for monthly closing;
• Responsible for accurate and timely submission of monthly/quarterly/yearly local statutory returns to regulators and other regulatory reporting requirements, including audited financial statements;
• Perform review on the variance analysis of the financial results pertaining to reporting to local management and statutory bodies;
• Identify and assist to implement initiatives to improve processes and collaborate across departments to ensure that initiatives are incorporated with sound financial controls whilst meeting business requirements;
• Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements or on an ad-hoc basis; and
• Assist to attend or respond to enquiries/liaison with External Auditors, tax consultants, regulators and other statutory bodies.

Minimum Job Requirements

• A recognized Degree in Accounting or Professional Accountancy Qualification, with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Excel and SAP are added advantage.
• Able to work under pressure and meeting tight deadlines .
• Analytical and good problem solving skills.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
• A good team player who is keen to learn.
