Job summary

Sherwin-Williams Co. is seeking a detail-oriented analyst to support the Fixed Assets and closing processes within our FA SBS team in Malaysia.

You will handle transactional work, asset capitalization, and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and timeliness across month-end activities. The role involves coordinating with local teams, maintaining asset records, and assisting with IBAR-related investigations.

Responsibilities

• Perform transactional processes accurately and timely within the FA SBS team (Fixed Assets, reconciliations, etc.).
• Review activity in construction in progress accounts.
• Extract workbook files, update and send to local teams for population.
• Load workbook files into Fixed Assets register as CIP or capitalized assets.
• Capitalize fixed asset items according to company policy.
• Retire assets according to company policy.
• Amend/update asset records.
• Setup intangible assets in Fixed Assets module to facilitate amortization.
• Help teach these tasks to new team members.
• Research more complex issues related to the tasks above.
• Month End Close.
• Provide support for month end close approximately from -3 working day to the 2nd working day of the month.
• Liaise with key personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of month end close.
• Bring policy exceptions to management attention.
• IBAR Process Support.
• Manage IBAR POD cases — obtaining, reviewing, validating, and documenting POD, BOL, and carrier documents for shortages/damages.
• Manage IBAR Return claims — investigate returns and obtain proof, POD, BOL, and tracking information.
• Complete IBAR POD and IBAR Return investigations timely with stakeholder updates.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Assist internal parties as required (e.g. support for internal auditors).
• Pitch in to help with short-term special projects and requests.
• Coordinate the team to accomplish short-term projects and requests.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
