Job summary

Omya Group in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Asset Accounting specialist to execute daily B2C asset accounting tasks, including investment orders, capitalization, depreciation, and monthly close. You will ensure accuracy of postings, maintain reconciliations, and support audit readiness as part of a global shared services setup.

In this role you will act as SME for complex postings, drive root-cause analysis, contribute to standardization, and collaborate with Controlling, AP, AR and process

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.
• Experience with asset accounting, month-end close and reconciliations is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP FI/AA modules and Cadency tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee daily/monthly B2C Asset Accounting tasks including investment orders, capitalization and depreciation.
• Ensure accuracy of postings, supporting documents, reconciliations and closing steps.
• Act as SME for complex asset accounting exceptions and perform root-cause analysis.
• Identify recurring issues and work with process management on remediation to prevent recurrence.
• Escalate structural issues, risks and recurring defects to appropriate channels.
• Support implementation of new/updated work instructions, tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Cadency).
• Document updates to SOPs and control matrices reflecting process changes.
• Coach peers on asset accounting workflows and closing activities.
