Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to lead the finance function for EPCC, renewable energy projects including Solar PV and BESS. You will directly manage reporting, cash-flow, banking, project accounting and controls while developing a junior finance team.

The role is hands-on, not purely supervisory, with involvement in management reporting, project budgets, WIP, revenue recognition and governance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Solid hands-on experience in financial and management accounting.
• Experience in full sets of management accounts.
• Experience in EPCC, construction, engineering, renewable energy or project-based businesses would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash-flow).
• Manage month-end/quarter-end close, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, GL integrity.
• Prepare financial analysis, variance analysis and management commentary.

Finance & Accounts Manager – EPCC / Renewable Energy

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Finance & Accounts Manager to lead the Finance & Accounts function of a growing EPCC company specialising in Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and related infrastructure projects.

This is not purely a supervisory position. The successful candidate will be directly involved in management reporting, cash-flow management, banking, project accounting and financial controls while leading and developing a junior finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and cash-flow reporting.

Manage month-end and quarter-end closing, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and general ledger integrity.

Prepare financial analysis, variance analysis and management commentary.

Manage project-based accounting including project budgets, actual costs, margins and WIP schedules.

Handle revenue recognition based on project completion, milestones and progress claims.

Review progress billing, variation orders, retention sums and project close-outs.

Prepare and monitor cash-flow forecasts and short-term liquidity requirements.

Manage bank reconciliations and operational banking matters.

Assess working‑capital requirements and banking facilities including overdrafts, trade lines, bank guarantees and letters of credit.

Liaise directly with banks on financing applications, renewals and facility requirements.

Coordinate statutory audits, taxation, SST and other regulatory requirements.

Liaise with customers when required on billing, progress claims, retention and collection matters.

Supervise and coach Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable/Billing team members.

Strengthen finance SOPs, internal controls, approval processes and governance.

Support ISO, internal audits and continuous process improvement.

Provide financial analysis and support for special projects and management initiatives.

Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

Solid hands‑on experience in financial and management accounting.

Strong experience preparing full sets of management accounts.

Experience in project accounting, WIP, progress billing and revenue recognition is highly advantageous.

Experience within EPCC, construction, engineering, renewable energy, infrastructure or project‑based businesses would be an advantage.

Good knowledge of cash‑flow management, banking facilities and financial controls.

Comfortable dealing directly with banks, auditors, tax agents and external stakeholders.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach junior finance team members.

Hands‑on, commercially minded and comfortable working in a growing organisation.

Language proficiency: English, Mandarin/Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia.
